CITIES THAT WE SERVICE:
I live in the Dallas, Fort Worth, Texas area and would like to know if you service the city that I live in?
In most cases we do. We service most cities that are within the Dallas, Ft Worth Metroplex. This includes most cities that are in Dallas and Tarrant County. Call us if you have any questions.

SERVICE CHARGES:
I was wondering if you charge a service call fee/ call out fee for coming to my house?
Yes, we do usually charge a service call charge for coming to your home. This includes the trip charge to your home, Primary diagnostics of one cooling or heating system, and an itemized list of the problems that we see, and what is necessary to correct the problems. Then we will give you prices to repair each problem that we find, that is giving you problems, or will cause you problems in the future. We offer upfront pricing. We charge by the specific job, and we do not base our prices on an hourly charge. You should not be charged more, just because we take longer than expected. The price you are quoted, is the price that you will be charged. There are no hidden fees charged.

I LOOKED OUTSIDE MY HOUSE, ON MY CONDENSER, AND THE LINES ARE COVERED IN ICE. IS THIS NORMAL?
This is called “freezing up” and is much more common than you would think. There are many problems that can cause this, and sometimes it takes several trips to your home to solve the problem. Whenever you see ice on the copper lines outside, turn off your system. It isn’t cooling your home, and you are wasting electricity trying to run it with the ice on it. The ice outside is only a small portion of the ice that is present. Inside your evaporator coil, the one in your home, is considerably more ice and it usually takes about 6-8 hours to melt. It really needs to thaw out, because if a service technician comes to your home, and the system is frozen up, the technician will have you turn off your system, and in most cases, it will be either very late in the day, or the next day before anything can be done to correct this problem. It is much better to try to diagnose the problem with your system, if the ice is melted, so the technician can test each component of your cooling system. One of the best ways to avoid having your system freezing up, is to always change your air filter on a monthly basis. Dirty air filters cause the system to freeze up in most cases. And for about $5.00 per month, your system will work better, cool better, and SAVE you MONEY on your electric bill.

I HAVE A NEW HOME THAT IS ONLY A COUPLE OF YEARS OLD. I’M SURE THAT MY NEW AIR CONDITIONING EQUIPMENT IS ONLY ABOUT 3 YEARS OLD. I’M HAVING PROBLEMS WITH IT AND WANT A COMPANY THAT CAN GET WARRANTY REPAIRS DONE ON THE NEW EQUIPMENT, IF IT IS COVERED BY THE WARRANTY. CAN ALLPRO AIR CONDITIONING DO THAT?
AllPro Heating & AC is an authorized warranty service company for most brands of air conditioning cooling and heating equipment. Our service technicians are factory trained to offer superior service to the home owner whether the equipment is new and under a factory warranty or older, existing equipment.

HOW OFTEN SHOULD I CHANGE AIR FILTERS?
I live in the Dallas-Fort Worth area and was wondering how frequently I should change my air filter?
AllPro Heating and AC suggests that if you have the most common 1″ inch air filter, that for the Summer months that you change it every 30-45 days. In the Winter, the heating is not used as much, so every 60 days is recommended. If you have 3-4 inch filters, or larger, it is usually desirable to change them every 4-5 months. Texas in general is dustier that many states, and we run our air conditioners longer, thereby getting our filters dirtier, faster than the national average noted on the filter.  This is a small price to pay for added comfort and efficiency.
